Laser Marking & Engraving
Precision laser marking and engraving as contract manufacturing — certified to ISO 9001 & ISO 13485, on virtually any material, from single part to large-scale series production.
Black Marking
Black marking with ultrashort pulse lasers produces an oxidation-free, deep black surface on metals — without material removal and without a heat-affected zone. The picosecond or femtosecond laser modifies the surface structure of the material at microscopic level, creating a specific light absorption that appears as deep black. The result is permanent, autoclave-stable, and chemical-resistant.
Black marking on titanium is the preferred labelling method for surgical instruments, implants, and medical components in Ti6Al4V-ELI and Grade 4. The marking withstands sterilisation cycles and aggressive cleaning agents without loss of contrast. The surface remains metallurgically intact — a decisive advantage for safety-critical components.
Black marking is not a standard process for us — it is a core competency we apply reproducibly every day, since 2017.

UDI Laser Marking
EU Medical Device Regulation MDR 2017/745 requires a Unique Device Identifier (UDI) on Class I to Class III medical devices — permanently applied to the product or its immediate packaging. We mark UDI DataMatrix codes and human-readable lines that are reliably scanned by handheld and machine readers — with complete documentation and 15-year archiving in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Our process is certified to DIN EN ISO 13485:2021. Every code produced is automatically validated by integrated camera systems checking readability and code quality to ISO/IEC 16022. Typical batch sizes for UDI marking with us range between 400,000 and 500,000 implants and scan bodies per year. Our defect rate has been below 0.01% since 2017.

Laser Engraving
The ultrashort pulse laser vaporises material directly through sublimation — without melting, without a heat-affected zone, without residue. The result is sharp-edged, burr-free engravings with clearly defined flanks and precisely reproducible depths. No deburring, no cleaning, no distortion.
Contract laser engraving covers serial numbers, drawing numbers, part numbers, type plates, logos, and freetext fields across a broad material range: stainless steel, titanium alloys, aluminium, brass, powder-coated metals, PEEK, ceramics, piezoceramics, and glass. Minimum character height: 0.2 mm. Positioning accuracy: ±0.05 mm.

3D Laser Marking
Using CNC-controlled rotary and tilt axes combined with a dynamically adjustable focus, we mark components on virtually any geometry — cylindrical surfaces, conical faces, spherical geometries, and free-form surfaces.
We operate the TRUMPF TruMicro Mark 1020 with two integrated cameras for automatic part alignment and code validation directly in the process. The CNC rotary axis for cylindrical parts handles diameters from 1 to 250 mm and weights up to 5 kg.
